Research Park at Florida Atlantic University® Companies named Honorees

GrowFL has announced that 4ocean,  Aventusoft and MPLT Healthcare, all companies within the Research Park at Florida Atlantic University®, are “2020 GrowFL Florida Companies to Watch Honorees.”

The top 50 honorees were selected from hundreds of applicants and nominees in this statewide competition that identifies companies expected to see significant growth over the next several years. 

“These standout companies are all led by entrepreneurs, and have demonstrated not only their willingness to grow, but their capacity to do it successfully,” said Tom O’Neal, Ph.D., GrowFL founder. “They are all positioned to make a significant impact on Florida’s economy with their products, services, critical intellectual property or a niche position that gives them a competitive edge in their markets. These business owners demonstrate strong leadership, philanthropic involvement, perseverance and all it means to be an entrepreneur.”

Research Park at FAU company joins NSF CAKE at FAU

The Research Park at Florida Atlantic University® recently announced that its client company, GoAwake, has joined the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Industry/University Center for Advanced Knowledge Enablement (CAKE) within FAU’s College of Engineering and Computer Science

GoAwake is Global Ventures at FAU’s first recruit from overseas, joining the initiative from Brazil where it has become a leader, creating innovative solutions to prevent accidents caused by drowsiness and distraction when driving.

Research Park at FAU welcomes new Authority Board member

Sherry Ambrose was recently announced as a new member of the Florida Atlantic Research and Development Authority. She was appointed by the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners.

Ambrose is a manager for Florida Power & Light’s Office of Economic Development and oversees competitive economic development projects and lead generation efforts. Global Ventures at FAU receives Soft Landings designation

The Research Park at Florida Atlantic University® is pleased to announce that its recently launched Soft Landings Center Initiative, Global Ventures at FAU, has received official designation by the International Innovation Business Association (InBIA). 

The initiative helps second stage companies from around the world and United States scale-up to the next level of development into profitable and sustainable companies that will positively impact South Florida’s economy in line with the mission of the Research Park at FAU.

BOCA RATON, Fla. (September 9, 2020) – The Research Park at Florida Atlantic University® and GrowFL are pleased to announce that three companies from the Research Park at FAU were among the first round of the 2020 GrowFL Florida Companies to Watch finalists.

Diowave Laser Systems Joins Research Park at Florida Atlantic University®

The Research Park at Florida Atlantic University® today announced that Diowave Laser Systems has relocated its headquarters and clinic to join the Research Park at FAU as its newest tenant.  

Diowave Laser Systems provides innovative technology, design and laser portability and now offers new and revolutionary Stealth Micro-Pulse Technology™ which allows care providers to treat various pathologies by micro-pulsing at appropriate power levels without introducing heat. In 2003, Diowave Laser Systems secured FDA clearance for its high-powered therapeutic laser and expects to be granted to the federal supply chain schedule soon.

MPLT Healthcare specializes in placing highly qualified physicians and advanced practice providers in locum, locum-to-perm and direct hire positions, thus serving highly skilled clinicians and a wide variety of client facilities around the country.

The Research Park at Florida Atlantic University® has announced that 4ocean, a public benefit corporation founded by two Florida Atlantic University alumni in 2017, will relocate its corporate headquarters to join the Research Park at FAU.

“Partnerships like this are extremely important in advancing our mission to end the ocean plastic crisis,” said Desmond Reese, director of operations at 4ocean.
